HOW ARE THOSE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS GOING?

We often fail at our resolutions because we aim at unrealistic things like,” I’m going to lose 30 pounds in 2 months, or I’m going to work out every single day.” If you have kids/family this is not realistic, I’m not saying it’s impossible, it’s just very difficult. It all depends on your level of motivation and flexibility in your everyday life. I started my resolution last May when my baby was 3 months old and I said, “from now on I’m going to work out at least 3 times a week, if I can do more I will, if I can’t I’m not going to beat myself up about it.” And, let me tell you 6 and a half months later I’m pretty proud of myself I actually go 4-5 times a week, if no one gets sick. If the baby would get up on a certain night and I was exhausted I wouldn’t go because, the reality is, what is most important is my baby and my sanity. I also didn’t put any number to my weight loss, I just decided to do it because it makes me feel good and it’s the only hour I have to myself! Even if it is, at 5AM ugh! If I lose weight it’s a bonus. I just wanted to be able to fit into some old clothes again, and I gotta say it feels pretty good even though I am not where I should be. Putting too much pressure on ourselves is NO BUENO! My 2018 resolution, is to focus on my eating habits and try to make better choices, this doesn’t mean I’m going to be eating grass every day and juicing, it just means I’m going to try to make better choices when I have options.
