Baby's First Birthday
To do a big party or not?
I have done big parties for all my kids for as
long as I can remember and the first birthday was one of the biggest always.
People always tell me why do you do a party when she will never even remember?
Well I do it for the celebration with everyone, I do it for the pictures I can
always look back and show her one day, I do it because I love to decorate for
all my kids birthday’s and most of all I do it because I will never celebrate
another FIRST birthday ever again. I have three girls and I can tell you my
oldest who is now 14 no longer wants a party with her family and friends, now
she just wants a gathering with her friends. I didn’t even take a picture this
year with her and I have to say it made me a bit sad. I truly loved and enjoyed
doing each and every birthday for her. As I look back at the pictures now I don’t
regret going through the hassle and spending money. As a child my birthdays were
pretty great. My parents always celebrated my birthday and made it very special
every year. I wasn’t a brat but, I definitely looked forward to my birthday
every year and I still do. I will be celebrating my third baby’s birthday in a
couple of weeks and I have to say, I thought about it twice and hesitated a bit
to think of all the planning and spending I had to do but, when it sunk in, that
this will be the last first birthday I will be celebrating it touched my heart
and without a doubt, I ordered the invitations and set the date. Now of course,
I am starting to go crazy and probably will continue until the day of the
party. One of the most important things in a celebration for me is the cake.
You may say, why the cake? Because, it should be carefully picked out with lots
of thought, it should taste amazing and look absolutely perfect for your little
angel’s special day. I feel like the cake is always the topic of conversation at
the end of the party, people always remember what it looked like and how it tasted,
if it was memorable of course. What part of the party is special or memorable
for you? I would love to hear your thoughts.
