Heartbreaking
I still can’t understand:
It’s with a heavy heart that I am writing today to express
myself as a mother and a human being. It was very close to home where this
horrific tragedy happened where 17 innocent lives where senselessly taken away
from this world and their parents. I can’t understand how there can be so much
evil out there. How these parents must be feeling. I am terrified of leaving my
kids at school, to think I may never see them again is the most heart
wrenching, painful feeling any parent can have. My biggest fear as a parent is
to not be able to protect my kids and these poor parents must be feeling so
horrible that they had no way of protecting their kids from this animal. Yes, I
said it, a person who can cause so much harm is an animal. As parents we cannot
blind ourselves when it comes to our children. No they are not perfect, and it
is our duty to get them help when something needs to be fixed or addressed. The
same way you take your child to the orthodontist because they need their teeth
fixed is the same way you need to treat a child who seems a bit off. Take them
to a specialist, address your concerns and treat the problem. My heart and
prayers go out to those families who had to wake up to the reality that they
will never see their child again. I urge you to say something if you see
something. I know that at times we don’t want to cause attention to ourselves
or take the time to report things but, unfortunately in the world we live in
today we need to be alert and speak out right a way, time is of essence. God
bless our children!
