“My monkey climbed out of her crib”
How did this happen so soon:
It was a regular Saturday afternoon and I put my daughter in
her crib in order to do some weekend cleaning. She was watching Despicable Me 3
and was very entertained. I stepped out of her room to get something from the
kitchen when I hear her crying. It was an odd cry, not so much the type of cry
like it was the tone and how quickly it was getting closer. As soon as I dashed
towards the room, there she was, in the hallway, Oh My God! I couldn’t believe
my eyes. Of course my first reaction was panic, did she get hurt? How did she
land? But, after a couple of seconds she stopped crying, I checked her and she
had a small bump on her forehead. I still can’t believe it, the last place I had
left to control her is no longer safe. Not to mention my next thought was, how
is this little 15 month old already climbing out of her crib! I didn’t have to
go through this with my other kids until they were like 2 years old. Now what?
Chances are, if she can climb out of the crib she can also climb out of the
playpen but this is my last resort. I will get a portable playpen and see if it’s
my solution. I can only sit her in the high chair for so long before she’s
bored so how else can I accomplish my chores? I have to admit I am feeling a
bit stuck and overwhelmed. Let’s see how this works out. Feel free to share how
you’re controlling your toddler in order to get things done around the house.
